Depending on God for everything

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. You turn man back to the dust, and say, "Turn back, O children of men!" For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. You sweep men away; they are like a dream, like grass which is renewed in the morning:

                                                      - Psalm 90:2-5

True Humility. True humility is based on the fundamental truth about the true relationship between God and man, and has to do with recognizing just how small and insignificant we are and just how great and glorious God is. It is accepting that we are humus (“from the earth”) and that we depend upon him for everything. It is accepting our lot in life and “learning to persevere and to carry on with peace of heart and confidence in God, secure in the knowledge that something worthwhile is being accomplished precisely because God’s will is at work in our life and we are doing our best to accept and follow it.”

Next reflection > That God might be more
