A Town Under Water [Updated 26 January 2012, GMT] Severe flooding has put much of the town of Nadi under water. The town (pronounced nandy) is home to a group we’re in close relationship with in the Sword of the Spirit. One of our close associates in Nadi reported that that he had five feet of water flowing through his home. Reports confirm that all the members of the group are safe and secure, some needing to be housed in emergency shelters. Their homes are flooded, and also their meeting hall. 
Please pray for our brothers and sisters there, and for all the people at risk from the flooding.Pray for safety, protection from disease, and courage to rebuild well. Farmers in two separate incidents have been killed by raging rivers. Four others are known to have died during the flooding. Tourists, trapped by the rapidly rising flood waters, had to be rescued by the military. Travel in general has become increasingly difficult, and hundreds of people in villages and towns have been evacuated to shelter on higher ground. Fiji’s National Weather Forecasting Centre is predicting several more days of heavy rain.
