Free to Die

I love the Michael Jordan video, "Come Fly With Me." It almost makes me feel like a basketball player. What he does is absolutely amazing—superhuman almost. If Jesus had made a video, I think it would have been titled, "Come Die With Me!" What he does is definitely superhuman! But as absolutely amazing as it sounds, the Master has need of us, and the Master bids us to come follow him. As we follow him, may we lay aside our nets, may we leave behind all that is familiar, and may we freely die with him … that we might also freely live with him.

And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? Lk 9:23-25 ESV
