Searching Out a Hidden Way

I used to find (well, ok, I still find) the "it's a mystery" answer to certain questions of faith rather unsatisfying. Similarly, the "hidden-ness" of the Christian life can at times be a serious challenge for me. At the end of the day, I'm a fairly pragmatic, "show me the money" (figuratively, not literally) kind of guy. And yet, as impressive as what we can see and know of the life and death of Christ is, what is hidden, what is unknowable (at least fully), what is silent, is even more impressive. And so each day, and especially each Lord's Day when we celebrate the resurrection of Christ from the dead, is worthy of just a bit more effort to search out the hidden-ness of our faith.

Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. 1Jn 3:2 ESV
