Christ is our best example of what leadership is all about. At the end of the day (and the beginning of the day as well, I suppose), leadership is about dying to self and living for others. It is the shepherd laying down his life for the sheep. It is about putting others' interests ahead of your own and helping others bear their burdens. It's about serving God and serving others, and it's about being a grain of wheat that falls into the ground … and dies … that life might come.

But Jesus called them to him and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." Mt 20:25-28 ESV
