CHARIS: A new international service for Catholic Charismatic Renewal

The Catholic Church has announced that on December 8th it will create a new body providing a single international service for the needs of Catholic Charismatic Renewal.

This body will be called CHARIS, and will operate in support of all expressions of the current of grace that is Catholic Charismatic Renewal, replacing the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service and the Catholic Fraternity of Charismatic Covenant Communities and Fellowships.

CHARIS will be served by a group of 18 leaders from the charismatic renewal, including Jean Barbara, President of the Sword of the Spirit, who will represent the communities movement around the world. This leadership group will assume their functions on the day of Pentecost 2019.

Is there any way I can engage people in your orbit who’ve had direct experience with ecumenical spirituality? We are Catholics who are thinking of trying to build an ecumenical community in our part of the world, but we’ve never had the privilege of living in Ann Arbor or taking part in the ecumenical experiments there. We’d love to make some contacts for dialog and get tips on resources for ecumenical pioneers.
