The following contains a collection of sources for the history of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. There are an abundance of sources from many archives of charismatic groups, but few of them lay out the structural aspects of how the renewal began and developed so rapidly and quickly. They — appropriately — mainly describe the spiritual results of the renewal. This collection is intended to remedy that lack.

1. Stephen B. Clark, It Was the Time and PlaceThis is a “testimony” requested by Patti Gallagher Mansfield for the second edition of her book As By a New Pentecost. It is perhaps the best place to begin, because it gives an overview in somewhat short form, both of the antecedents and the continuation afterwards.  <Read more>

4. Overall CCR StructureA summary of the establishment of the leadership structures of the renewal as a whole compiled from the official archives. It establishes that the renewal had a structure from the beginning, at first an informal structure as most new movements, then a formal structure similar to the Cursillo Movement. <Read more>

7. CCRSC Minutes: this file contains the minutes of the CCRSC, the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Service Committee, the body that originally led the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. The CCRSC began in 1970. It established itself as the National Service Committee of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal of the United States in May 1976. <View Folder>
